Pictured behind me is Gordes, one of the most beautiful towns in the Luberon region of Provence. Its white and grey stone houses and buildings rise up from the greenery, much like something out of the Game of Thrones – or so my hubby tells me??

Walking around the town and having lunch in the square is definitely worthwhile but arguably the best views at Gordes are not from within Gordes itself. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful A5 Cabriolet to drive around Provence in, and found this great lookout just 2 minutes down the road out towards the Abbaye de Senanque.

We then continued on, driving around the hills of Gordes in our convertible. I normally don’t like driving with the roof down, I mean who would pay extra just to have the wind blowing in your face and messing up your hair?? But my hubby was the one in charge of driving and convinced me to get the convertible. And I must say, driving around in summer in the south of France with the rolling hills made for a pretty convincing argument. It was heaps of fun – even worth the boofy hair that I received as a result!

  1. Elle (and Mel in the previous posts!) – you look gorgeous! Gordes looks absolutely beautiful – there is definitely something very ‘Game of Thrones’-ish about it with the buildings on the side of the mountain – kind of medieval in a way! I love how green it all looks too, something quite different to the Australian landscape at times.
