Destination Wedding – what to wear?!

2015-08-31 11.14.07 am

I have a wedding in Koh Samui, Thailand in 3 weeks and I still haven’t figured out what I am going to wear! I started off by looking at maxi dresses but all of them resembles very bridesmaid-esque type dresses and I don’t really want to rock up looking like a bridesmaid! As it is an Asian wedding, red is also out of the question and black is usually not ideal. I want something not too formal, something slightly causal but still sexy and I think this Rag and Bone Cove Dress fits my criteria. I adore the back of this dress. What do you think?

Christina and Jason’s Wedding

I’ve known Chrissy and Jason since forever and no words can express how happy and elated I am that these two decided to tie the knot at one of the most beautiful gardens in Melbourne, Rippon Lea. I met Chrissy in university whilst studying Business Systems. That was definitely a loonnnggg time ago. Christina and I are as different as two people can get. She was the party animal whilst I was the nerd. She has an easy going fun loving personality whilst I’m the control freak. Yet, our friendship flourished and it just grew deeper over the years. I’m so truly happy that Chrissy has found her one true love , Jason, as together they make the most beautiful couple.

Sindy and Matt’s Wedding

Sindy and Matt wedding a

Sindy is one of my oldest and bestest friends. We met in high school and I’ve always treasured Sindy as she is probably the most helpful and easy going person that I know. Anything you need, whether it be advice or favour Sindy will always be there to lend a helping hand. I am so happy that she found the man of her dreams, Matt.  I already know that together, they will be a very successful couple.

Introducing Leo and Jane. Where should I start with this beautiful couple? Leo has been our family friend for years and we also attended law school together. He is one of the smartest guys I know and can speed read articles in the time it took you to read this post! Oh and this guy has taste too. Did I mention that the couple got engaged in Paris, with Leo proposing with a beautiful Cartier engagement ring?

The couple opted to get married at the Royal Botanical Gardens and it was simply beautiful. As the photos can attest, Jane looked absolutely stunning. The weather was just perfect – overcast with a breeze. I actually wanted to get married at the botanical gardens too but decided that it was going to be too stressful worrying about the weather.  I spent ages looking for a suitable indoor venue in Melbourne and almost gave up! In the end, I decided on the Dome but if I had my time over and if I wasn’t so paranoid about the weather I probably would choose the botanical gardens. The Taxodium Lawns with the lake backdrop was simply breathtaking!

As it turned out it did rain on my wedding day so I guess I made the right decision going indoors. For those of you trying to decide on a ceremony venue I would strongly recommend the botanical gardens – the scenery is just so serene and with a string quartet it is just pure class. I would even go so far as to say that it’s nicer than Rippon Lea. However, Rippon Lea offers much more privacy (no asian tourists!) as you will have the entire grounds to yourself for the duration of your ceremony – food for thought.

For the day ceremony I opted to wear: Camilla and Marc Dress, Chanel Bag, Hermes Rivale Bracelet, Cartier Love Bracelet and Valentino Rock Stud Heels.

The reception was held at one of Melbourne’s finest restaurants, Vue de Monde. I was so super excited! The views at Vue De Monde were just amazing and I couldn’t help but take a berzillion photos. Although the food was quite nice and I had an amazing time, I have to admit that the function room was quite crowded with minimal space for the waiters to walk around and serve food. However, the views made up for that!

For the reception I wore: Manning Cartell Dress, YSL Clutch, Hermes Clic Clac, Cartier Love Bracelet, Chanel Earrings, Zara Shoes.

I will continue to update you guys on the weddings that I attend and hopefully my wedding posts will help those of you out there trying to plan your big day because I know how scary it can be!
