Is it just me, or is everyone obsessed about their health these days? No matter where I go or who I talk to, health related topics always pop up in group discussions. I don’t remember a time throughout my whole entire life where my friends have ever been so diligent about gymming OR PT-ing OR going on some 5:2 / green juice diet OR being super competitive on some Fitbit thing you wear on your wrist. What else? How about the variety of active clothing available AND organic superfood like quinoa and chia seeds AND Pilates reformer and Xtend Barre classes (I mean, seriously, what the hell is that?!). Even yoga mats now come in gorgeous psychedelic prints! You really can’t escape it and you can’t avoid it. It is right there in your face everywhere you go. And so it should! If there is one thing that you should invest in, it really is your health more than anything else. Because without it, does anything else really matter?
I’ve never really been the type of person to exercise a lot or consciously look after my diet. I’ve never had the discipline or motivation to really keep to any exercise regime. Having said that, I’m looking after my body a lot better now since my hives saga which I’m glad to say is behind me now. My wardrobe at the moment is full of daggy exercise clothing from when I was in uni and I think it is time to give that a spring clean. Perhaps buying beautiful activewear will motivate me to stick to a routine! Well, at least I hope so!
