funkis store launch-1Having moved in to our new place last year, J and I have been toiling away to create our perfect space. It’s a seemingly never ending decision making process. But at least we’ve agreed on a theme – ours is showing a decisively modern Scandinavian influence.

Homeware shopping is addictive, and so when funkis invited me to their new store launch in Melbourne’s re-designed Strand Arcade I was genuinely excited!

Fiddle Leaf Fig and Pop and Scott

This plant keeps popping up everywhere. They are in magazines, display homes, on my tumblr account – everywhere! Today I found out that this pretty little thing goes by the name “Fiddle Leaf Fig”. I don’t normally keep anything alive in the house because it always ends up dead. When I used to live in an apartment my fish committed suicide by jumping out of the window. You get the picture. Anyways, I went to a nursery today as I was determined to hunt down this plant so that I could have a reason to also buy that beautiful Aztec pot!

Country Road Home

Homewares and furniture were never really my thing. I was never the least bit interested. I used to go kitchenware shopping with mum and it was just such a bore. The biggest yawn ever. My interests were more self obsessive and didn’t really extend to anything that I couldn’t put on myself like clothes, shoes, bags and make up. But all that has since changed.
