Ask Me Anything Answered – My Engagement!

Anonymous asked: Love reading your blog soo much and it’s given me a lot of help with my wardrobe. Just noticed in the last few posts that a gorgeous ring has popped up on Elle’s left finger :) Are you engaged?

Hello!! Sorry to get back to you so late. Thank you so much for your lovely comment! You  certainly have very sharp eyes =) Yes, I am engaged!!

The day was the 6th of September 2011, and it had just gone 10am in the morning. The location was the majestic 620 Loft & Garden at the Rockefeller Center in the heart of New York City. It was totally unexpected and to be honest, my emotions were unexpected too! I think I was more scared and nervous than anything else! My heart was pumping like crazy and the first thing that came out of my mouth was “What are you doing?! Get up!”

Excuse the paparazzi looking shots – the boy hired a photographer to capture the moment and she was hiding behind the bush. Much kudos to my boy for his wonderful efforts – having to contend with Hurricane Irene and torrential rain meant that months of planning and coordination were thrown into total disarray and everything had to be reorganised. No wonder he couldn’t eat anything during our first couple of nights in New York! Somehow he still managed to pull the wool over my eyes with a fabricated story and organized some sunshine. He even threw in a Chuck Bass style limousine for good measure!

A memorable stay at the New York Palace completed my Gossip Girl fantasy.

Celebratory lunch and bubbly at Asiate, whilst gazing over Central Park.

A room with a view – I was looking out the window at the Proposal location everyday and didn’t even know it.

Ask Me Anything Answered – How to Style Leather Pants!

Anonymous asked: How do you style leather pants?!

Hello! I believe you can style leather pants with practically anything! Below are some of my favourite combinations:

1) Silk shirts on its own or with a vest or blazer
2) Tweed jacket with silk blouse inside
3) Loose cotton shirts – it can be white or a blue chambray
4) Loose jumpers – can be cropped or long
5) Loose grey or white tee either loosely tucked in or left out

I’m currently loving leather pants from Current/Elliot, JBrand, Alice and Olivia, Theory, Faith Connexion and Helmut Lang.

Here are more photos for inspiration:

Hope this helps! =)

Ask Me Anything Answered – Re: Balenciaga ‘Ballerina’!

Anonymous said: Yes, sorry it was the ballerina I was talking about. Thanks for the feedback and I did think about the colour coordination factor as well. I think the black one is way more versatile so I think I’ll go with that instead. However, I still think the pastel blue one is a beauty :)

Hello! No worries at all! I love to help out =). I think you made a GREAT choice. You definitely can’t go wrong with  black and they are beautiful ballerinas. I absolutely love them. You will get so much wear out of these ballerinas with all your outfits. I agree with you, the pastel blue is a great color but I think I want a black pair now too!! =)

Ask Me Anything Answered – Balenciaga Shoes!

Anonymous asked: Re: Balenciaga pumps – Hi, can you tell me what is the colour of your balenciaga pumps and the size you ? I saw the black one and this colour on the internet and can’t decide what colour to get.

Hi! I don’t actually own a pair of Balenciaga “pumps” (although I wish I do! =)) but I do have a pair of Balenciaga ballerinas if that’s what you’re referring to. I checked the box but it doesn’t say what the color is called. It looks like a light baby blue color. The size of my ballerinas is 36. To be honest, you can’t go wrong with black, it is so versatile and you can match it with every single item in your wardrobe. I think the light blue color that I have is very pretty and I do love the color but it is not the easiest color to match with my clothing. I find that it clashes with  colored patterned and print tops. However, if you already have many pairs of classic black ballerinas then why not go for something different?

Hope this helps! =)

Ask Us Anything Answered – Alexander McQueen Scarf!

Anonymous asked: Hi, I’m trying to justify buying an Alexander McQ scarf. I’ve been eyeing one for a while but can’t seem to justify my purchase. I really like it though …what do you think?

It’s McQueen! No justification required! =)

 Get it if:
1) You’ve been eyeing this scarf for longer than 3 months;
2) You LOVE this scarf not just ‘like’
3) You know you will wear it ALOT;
4)You love wearing scarves – McQueen scarves are the epitome of all scarves!;
5) You can still afford to eat after buying it;
6) You can promise yourself not to buy anything for the rest of the month.

Lastly – they are also surprisingly practical. The lightness of the material means you can wear it almost any time of year and dress up even the simplest of outfits.

If you decide to buy it – you must watch this video on how to wear it!

Hope this helps! =)

Ask Us Anything Answered – Prada Bag!

Anonymous asked: I’m planing to buy a new bag and I’m a big fan of prada too. I like the size of the one that you carried in the first picture. Is it Prada saffiano luxe tote in Mini (that’s how it’s called in Neimanmarcus.com, at saks.com called Saffiano Vernice tote bag)Please help! Big thanks.

Hi! I assume this was the picture you were referring to? My bag is called the Saffiano Lux Double Zip Tote Bag. I’m actually not sure whether my bag is called “mini” as I know there is a lux tote in an even smaller size than mine. The style number of my bag is BN1801. I also measured my bag and it is roughly this size 11.8″ X 7.8″ X 5.1″(W30 X H20 X D13cm). If you are unsure about whether it is the right size perhaps email Neimanmarcus or Saks and get them to confirm the style number of the bag for you. It is not the Saffiano Vernice Tote Bag as the Vernice is a shiny patent looking leather whereas my bag is matte leather.

Hope this helps! =)
